Obamanos!

Tell us about inauguration day! People in Chile and Argentina have been very excited about it and we are often asked about how we feel about Obama. This morning on Argentine tv they showed pictures of people gathering on the mall. It is (I think) 3 hours earlier here than in DC.

Joe and Sarah left Oxford, Md. at 5:00am to catch the metro into DC to watch the inauguration. Alas, when they got near the exit for the Metro stop on Rt. 50, there was a sign across the highway saying that that stop was full already (6 am)! And traffic was backed up for several miles. So—we turned around and headed back east, stopping in Annapolis for breakfast and daybreak.
We ended up having a good time anyway—the Easton democrats sponsored a large-screen TV viewing at the Avalon theatre – complete with lunch. So, Bob, Sarah, and their friends from Argentina (Hugo and Haydee) went to that and had a great time—cheering for Obama. Joe stayed home to do some work and watched it on TV at home. A great advantage of not getting into DC is that we didn’t suffer from hypothermia.

Sorry you had to miss it - I had the old tear in the eye listening to his inaugural address. Love your pictures! I have read (portions) of your blog to Mom.
